Giuseppe Mistretta is the Director for Sub-Saharan Africa at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Deputy Director-General for Global Affairs. Diplomatic official since 1984, Mistretta has spent twenty years of his professional career in Africa, notably as Ambassador to Angola (2009-2014) and Ethiopia (2014-2017). His previous diplomatic experiences include Rome, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the United States of America, Libya and Great Britain.
